The 2021 Australian census will be the eighteenth national population and housing census in Australia. The census will be officially conducted with effect in August 2021.[2]

Introduction


The Australian Bureau of Statistics is legislated to collect, hold and disseminate census data under the Australian Bureau of Statistics Act 1975 (ABS Act), and the Census and Statistics Act 1905 (Census and Statistics Act).[3]
The 2016 Australian census was the previous census completed. Participation in the census is compulsory which empowers the Statistician to request persons to complete forms.[4][5][6] Personally-identified information kept and securely held by the National Archives of Australia (NAA) for 99 years will be made public in 2120.[7]


The final 2021 census questions are anticipated to be published in 2020.[8]

Census topic development


The 2021 census topics have been developed by Australian Bureau of Statistics.[9][10]


  1. ABS begins consultation

  2. Publishes details of submission process (March 2018)

  3. Public submissions open (April - June 2018)

  4. ABS publishes consultation summary and refined recommendations (late 2018)

  5. Approvals by Australian Government (mid 2019)

  6. ABS publishes final 2021 census questions (late 2020)


Data collection


Due to public expectations of interacting with government through digital services. People will also be able to complete their Census using the paper form.[11]



Online


From the 2006 to 2016 censuses, completing it online has been an optional method with sixty-three percent in 2016. People will again be able to complete their Census online in 2021.[12]

But this algorithm is defined in a two dimensional space for now. To shift it into the third dimension I need to somehow combine the Bézier curves. Given two curves in each two dimensions, how can I combine them to build a surface? I thought about something like a curve of a curve. Or maybe I could multiply them somehow. How can I combine them to cause the wanted behavior? Is there a common approach? In the image you can see the input, on the left, and the output, on the right, of the algorithm that works in a two dimensional space. For the real application there is a three dimensional input.
